Low Vision
A person who has a vision defect that can not be corrected with contact lenses or spectacles is considered to have low vision i.e., that person may be partially sighted or legally blind. In some cases, these individuals can be helped with low vision aids such as magnifiers or other devices.
Low vision may be due to a congenital defect in the eye or from acquired pathology. Due to an increase in retinal problems caused by e.g., diabetes and macula degeneration, more people are struggling to perform regular daily tasks such as reading.
At the practice we aim to help those who require extra care in helping them deal with new challenges that they may be facing. Lost sight can not be restored but a new way of managing may be found.
